Inorganic Chemistry and Materials Chemistry

As the cradle of chemical specialized talents training and the research center of chemical science at northwest of China, the discipline of Inorganic Chemistry and Materials Science was found in 1923, and was the authorized discipline to confer MS and Ph.D degrees in 1984 and 2000, respectively. It was appraised as the key discipline of Shaanxi Province in 2000. Major research areas are: Coordination Chemistry, Hybrid functional molecular materials, Super molecular chemistry, Magnetic/pore molecular-based crystal materials, Bioinorganic Chemistry, Anodematerial for Lithium Batteries, Hydrogen storage materials for fuelcells, Organometallic Chemistry, Fluorescentmaterial, Functional ceramic, Nano-Materials Chemistry, thermodynamics.

Prof. Wang’s group has five teachers and fifteen graduate students. The research interests of the group mainly focus on the functional coordination chemistry and materials chemistry. The group has started to explore a totally new field about molecular braid, synthesized the first case of novel [4]-crossing catenane coordination polymer, and found the catalyst of decarboxylation in the in situ reaction.
